A rare fault rupture was caught on camera during the massive M7.9 Myanmar earthquake on March 28, 2025. The Myanmar earthquake caused intense ground movement and violent shaking across Mandalay and central Myanmar. The Thailand earthquake effects were also widely reported, with shaking felt in Bangkok and northern provinces.
This footage documents the Myanmar earthquake’s fault rupture, providing rare insight into seismic activity affecting both Myanmar and Thailand.
That’s actually an insane recording. Holy shit.
Imagine the mass moving there. Unbelievable scale.
Also imagine how fucked all the underground utilities are
I’m so dumb… I watched the beginning multiple times while staring at the driveway in the foreground and was like, “What’s the big deal? It’s just a little crack.”
Then I saw the background and hooooooly fuck. It’s no wonder people believed in capricious nature gods.
Holy shit lol, thats incredible
Such a remarkable amount of energy. Each m3 of soil is like 1000-2500kg in weight. It throws that around like it’s nothing.
It’s rather chilling, like imagine you’ve got a foot on either side of the fault when it starts slipping like that, and a crevasse opens up underneath you. Shits wild. Not sure I’ve ever seen something that big move that fast on earth.
could be quite pinchy
