The only thing I’m interested in is eye-octopus-bro. The rest of everything going on is sort of stupid to me.
It all looked cool but man…
Awesome! Looking forward to their ‘Sophomore’ season. Plenty more for the series to dive more into and loose ends to tie off.
Best Alien since Alien. Really looking forward to more.
I’m not sure we saw the same show. The Alien you watched had an immortal girl and her pet alien with a cast of the stupidest people working in a remote island? Because if we’re talking about the same show, I might be able to convince you that Game of Thrones season 7 was god Tier writing.
It was so, so poor, which is a pity because the pilot gave me the impression they could have done something decent.
Right, as opposed to the original, which had an immortal woman and her pet cat with a cast of the stupidest people working on a spaceship in a distant solar system.
Uh-huh. The movie where everyone is wiped out by the alien, and the girl you’re talking about is hunted by said alien? That’s not immortal, that’s the fear and perseverance that makes the movie great!
And you think that the tv show where the girl is literally talking to and controlling the alien after 24 hours, and is also capable of beating every cyborg because she can hack without even physical contact. And the ‘super smart’ business leader sends ALL of his rare and expensive new inventions into a crashed space ship that has caused the initial collapse of the high rises it collapsed into. And having created these new super humans, he failed to put in any kill-switch or control mechanism. Oh, and let’s gloss over the fact that suddenly the special military can’t seem to shoot said pet alien in a narrow hallway. I mean, come on, you find better writing on bathroom stalls!
You’re right, but media literacy is grossly lacking this day and age. I bet most people like it mostly for the well done styling and graphics.
“If I’m entertained, it wasn’t bad!” ok, well I’ll go find my keys to jingle…
Certainly left on a cliffhanger! Felt more like a midseason break and I’m surprised season 2 wasn’t already greenlit and half way in production
That show was dumber than a bag of dicks.
Eh.
Visually it was movie-grade. Story was losing me by the end of the season. Characters were making unrealistically dumb decisions. In the end the only episode I really liked was the “prequel” episode that explains how the first episode begins. That was the only episode that actually felt like an Alien franchise survival horror situation.
I agree with you on every point.
Prequel episode was amazing, but the show overall was pretty poor.
I was already disappointed in episode 1 where the rescue team decide to jump down a broken stairwell, nearly falling to their deaths and/or breaking their legs when they absolutely didn’t need to do that. Very clear they did it only because the plot wanted them to, because the story needed them to get separated. And so they did it, despite it being dumb and unbelievable.
When characters are forced by the script to do things which feel wholly unnatural, and not at all how that character as I ‘know’ them would choose to act, it utterly ruins the immersion for me, making the whole thing feel transparent and paper-thin.
