I was in this event. Please keep in mind that we only had like 3-6 hours of server time each day.

“The girls’ side fell apart for SOME REASON”

  1. We unironically had Russian guys use AI images/deepfakes to cheat their way onto the girls’ side and then just start mass murdering every girl they could see. This went on for irl DAYS out of a week long competition.
  1. These guys also left signs around our side of the map with swastikas and sexist messages.
  1. ONE GIRL on our side (Makio) independently looked into the socials of all these “girls” who were murdering other girls and found their youtube channels and reported it to staff. I think it’s important to note that there wasn’t even a way for us to report things in the discord server until she and other girls like mass-pinged staff for this functionality in the discord server.
  1. I’m not sure if it was ever confirmed, but there were also reports of girls selling their accounts to guys as well so the guys could sabotage the girls.
  1. The girls’ side had trans girls on it. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS except after it became common knowledge that there were russian guys pretending to be girls and rumors of girls selling their accounts to guys, a lot of girls began reporting/targeting our trans girlies as infiltrators just because of the pitches of their voices and it started this huge fight on the girls’ side about transphobia and such.
  1. SO MANY GIRLS died to traps set by the fake-girls. It took the staff days to look into it, determine if those traps were set by fake-girls or real girls, and return these girls from their wrongful deaths. But by then, the event was almost over. These girls who were returned had next to no time to prepare for war, much less time to make connections/alliances with their fellow girls.
  1. This was marketed initially as a CIV event, not a PVP event. There was such a low amount of girls apply initially that they started to just send the discord server invite to any girl who showed an interest in playing on a Mr. Beast minecraft server. The amount of girls who were invited who didn’t even know how to make a crafting table was insane. No hate to them, of course! But Mr. Beast and his team knew that if that wall came down, boys would win because they had top Minecraft players on their side and the girls had people who didn’t even know how to make a crafting table on theirs, much less how to make a sword.

I didn’t know if I wanted to say something or not because I didn’t want to diminish my chances of being invited to another Mr Beast event. But nobody else is speaking up and I’m just seeing too much hate on the girls not to say something.

I wish they would’ve said something about all of this in the actual video instead of leaving a vague thing in their description about cheaters being banned.

Screenshots posted by girls in the UGF server from the event.

The signs were originally in Russian and were translated.

(i blocked out the guys’ names because they don’t deserve the clout)

I know it’s people using a translator because if the chud were me I’d translate the messages to russian to make it seem worse because that’s just how a chud thinks

If it actually were russians i doubt they wouldn’t translate it into English when the majority of the contestants are speaking English

to be fair, the evidence we see is someone putting russian on signs as a way to insult the girls’ so the most simple explanation is russian chuds being allowed to do this by Mr. Beast, it could be not that, but until more evidence comes out, yeah…

Sure, they might actually be Russian (or might not, or some of them might be Russian but not others), but my point is that it’s not actually relevant except that AmeriKKKans are obsessed with any narrative about “Russian interference”.

It’s really weird how she had to make sure to mention they were Russian three times, but it was only relevant once (when discussing the language on the signs). The other two times were just the free-square in the middle of every AmeriKKKan’s bingo card labeled “racism”, I suppose.

Even if it’s true (and it’s surely only partially true), the concerning thing is the amount of emphasis put on them being Russian like the issue with all of this was that it was instigated by the Evil Ethnicity.

I particularly appreciated how she made sure to emphasize that there’s nothing wrong with being trans (correct and good), but apparently there IS something wrong with being Russian because they don’t get a disclaimer despite their ethnicity being unnecessarily brought up several times.

There’s also a tacit acceptance of the premise of “boys vs. girls” throughout which I think is seriously problematic in the first place, but that’s to be expected from someone who chose to participate in this event.

Isn’t this just trying to recreate some Minecraft “social experiment” a while back where people were randomly selected to spawn on 2 different islands in the same world, except one had vastly more resources than the other to “see what happens”

Except the admins railroaded the direction of the experiment if it went too far off script, and all the participants had to pass some tests to even join the experiment just for the sake of entertainment, so it occupies the space between “scripted” and “reality” like it’s Big Brother or Survivor for zoomers.

These are videos that ultimately produce tens of thousands or even sometimes hundreds of thousands for Beast and yet they’re organised and run worse than most grassroots fighting game tournaments run on a shoestring budget with tiny prizepools. Just pathetic to be honest, I know literally teenagers who organise events for hundreds of people better than this and understand the responsibility involved.

Funny that the thing this community focused on was that some of the trolls were Russian lol

What this community focused on was the undue focus on the alleged ethnicity of the trolls. Some of them MIGHT have been Russian (or Americans pretending to be Russian), yet the tweets are almost written as though all of them are Russian and as though this is an extremely important and relevant detail. You’d be forgiven for thinking after reading these tweets that the reason this was bad was because Russians were involved.

I counted two mentions to Russian guys lol, seems relevant if big part of this harassment was done in Russian and shit

Two mentions where it’s totally irrelevant, and one where it’s actually relevant (at the end, to the language of the signs). Reminding you that there’s zero evidence presented that they’re actually Russian rather than American chuds using Google Translate because they know it will bother liberals more if the harassment is in Russian. As someone else in this thread pointed out, actual Russians would probably be more likely to translate their writing into English for an obviously English-speaking audience at this event.

It’s very, very clear that the person who wrote this feels that the alleged ethnicity of the perpetrators is an important part of what makes this so bad. I hope I don’t need to explain why that’s a very problematic way to think.

It’s like everything I said just slid right off the surface of your brain because the “bad” ethnicity was mentioned. Genuinely baffling.

Edit: your original comment before editing was just “This community and Russia, haha. What a combo.” without the added “Of course it can’t be actual Russian chuds, it must be a conspiracy lol”. To address the added point, it doesn’t matter if they were Russian or not, what matters is the emphasis on them being Russian even when it doesn’t make a different. It’s clearly xenophobia.

Professional point-misser right here. Since you edited your comment and I edited mine to reply to that edit, I’m sure you didn’t see the latter part of my comment. I’ll copy it here.

I say “bad” ethnicity (note the quotation marks to emphasize that it’s not actually bad) because it’s very clear that that’s the underlying sentiment here (in the tweets, and probably in your insistence that there’s nothing odd about the focus on the ethnicity of the trolls): they must be bad at least partly because they’re Russian.

if there are 1000 people in something, it’s bound to have issues. the thing that sets mr beast apart in these situations is that his company does it in the cheapest and most careless, disorganised way because “it’s just for a youtube video”.
