I have a feeling that if I could somehow contact everybody and demonstrate to them how Fascism was the inevitable consequence of capitalism, they would be similarly inactive.

Living conditions in the Empire are going to have to get pretty damn awful before revolution becomes a serious possibility.

I agree, and even then, just look at Latin America where in many countries conditions are far worse than in the US for the majority. Yet, we don’t see revolutions happening I’m most of them. Of course, the US has been suppressing progressive movements there. And I expect the exact same tactics will be applied at home. Movement leaders will be imprisoned or assassinated, protests will be violently suppressed, and so on.

The most likely future for the US is naked fascism.

Yep, sounds right. The only real solution is a working class revolution. Organised militant resistance. Eat the rich asap obvsly 💪

The way I see things pan out is Democrats will use this as a sort of “Return to justice!” moment. Their goal is to make Americans happy, while abusing other countries.

However, because of the growing resistance and the decline of their power which allows them to exercise imperialism, they will be forced to resort to expand internally. This is the nightmare scenario for Democrats imo.

Them being in office and having to openly do the job of GOP. because it’s the only way for them to retain their power. Once they’re no longer capable of doing the good cop, bad cop, that’s going to be the beginning to the end for USA.

Them being in office and having to openly do the job of GOP.

But they basically do this already. They already do genocide, mass deportations, passively allowing abortion bans, etc. while just claiming they’re the good cop even though the claim is nonsensical.

I’m honestly not sure how much “more” they can be forced into this…

        Except it’s not.

The Dems do the GOP’s job, yes, but they do it quietly and without ceremony where the GOP loudly proclaims it from the rooftops.

But the Dems are having a much harder time doing this as things get worse. There will come a moment within the near future when they can no longer pretend they’re the “good guys” because the average person isn’t going to fall for it anymore. There will be no return to normalcy.

Given what the average person has fallen for to-date, I don’t share your optimism on this. Democrats openly and explicitly supported an ongoing genocide last election, I fail to see how much further there is to fall.

while just claiming they’re the good cop

I’m not sure what you mean here. Good cop is when someone is pretending to be good. Their inability to keep appearances is what I’m getting at here.

There’s a reason why Black Panther party has been historically the most radical party. Other groups were less oppressed than them and that privilege, what kept those others from radicalizing, has been getting weaker and weaker over time. Sometimes going up temporarily and then crashing back down.

Precisely, capitalism in the US has reached the stage where fascism is the only way for the system to continue to function. So, dems can no longer play their usual games and have to start to openly implementing fascist policies with any pretense of democracy being abandoned.
