weird phrasing, who calls it the “US republic”
usually people arguing that the US isn’t supposed to be a democracy, ime.
edit: ohh. I think it comes from how constitutionalists talk about america. since this guy’s talking about the constitutional implications of the decision to attack. (lol)

this move irritates the fuck out of me. “no the people don’t have power, it’s just that there’s no monarch” and once you call them on it the conversation ends because they only know preformulated lines from right wing broadcasts
