This unlocked so many memories of me playing C&C Renegade

The Gamespy was still being used for Battlefield 2 a few years ago, they might’ve modded and rebranded it by now but after the official services closed the community basically took it upon themselves to continue running it to keep servers up.

i do, and i used to play quake world team fortress with it. And there was a mod for QWTF that was called MegaTF that added all kinds of cool shit to each of the classes, like the mirv grenade for the demo man, and the doctor could drop a syringe that was next to impossible to see on the ground but if you stepped on it you just bled to death unless you could find health. It was so much fun.

i’m pretty sure i used it to play various mp games in the early 2000. probably aoe2 and maybe empire earth?
