A movie of a Disney+ show. So they were already limited to people who watch the show. But also those people are subscribers who will simply wait for it to come to Disney+.
It also happens to be incredibly bad.
I thought it was an enjoyable popcorn movie. It wasn’t high art but it wasnt bad.
So then, one of the better Star Wars films?
Haha people always say that when a movie’s just shit but it’s from a director or franchise they like.
If it was a season of TV it would have been very good. The expectation of a movie is higher.
I will never understand how the bean counters haven’t just figured out that they should hire SW fans to make SW content. Like how fucking difficult is it?! There’s a ton of great fan fiction for free, and it’s probably all been indexed by AI at this point. There’s zero excuses for bad stories.
Writer Dave Filoni - “Widely considered the creative protégé of George Lucas, Filoni was personally hired and mentored by Lucas for nearly a decade. He is viewed as the “torchbearer” for Lucas’s original vision of Star Wars”
Lucas’s original vision of Star Wars
Which is not what fans want.
Pre-Disney, Lucas was always one of the biggest issues with Star Wars. The films were not a success because of Lucas’s vision; they were a success because they did not accurately capture his vision.
If a fan were to take what fans actually like about Star Wars and make more films using that vision, that would not be the same vision as Lucas and his cronies.
i would rather Disney fail as a company than get good star wars content. Fuck Disney.
You know, as someone who loves Star Wars, I wholeheartedly agree. Not just because they fucked up Star Wars canon, but primarily because of how mustache-twirling evil Disney is. Fashy loving fucks.
Hell yeah, ((fist bump)). Fuck those greedy fascists.
That’s what they did though
This hell is one made by Star Wars fans.
lol they did and it’s shit
The best SW to come out since the Disney acquisition was written and directed by someone who never was into Star Wars.
Have you seen Star Wars fans?
The weekend isn’t over yet and it’s already ahead of Solo. It’s nearly beat its budget already. Jumping the gun here.
I didn’t know there was a new Star Wars movie.
I’m planning to see it but I’m recently single and my friends who would conceivably be interested in seeing it live far away and it’s hard to get them out of the house in general. And going to the movie theatre by myself feels weird. I should try it.
I think its good to do things like that to get comfortable doing things alone and build self-esteem but it does feel like wasted time if it wasn’t any good.
I doubt they’ll learn anything about over-saturation from it
