• i would ask how these bozos square

'israel is surrounded by enemies that want to destroy it"

    and

“it’s the only safe place on the planet for our people.”

but i know they are completely incoherent. see also: atheists who believe god promised them land.

The missing piece between these two is “it’s just not safe for Jews in Europe or America or anywhere else”. That’s why any and all mass attacks on Jews feed in to the strategy-of-tension behind this thought process.

It doesn’t matter what the actual risks/rates are, because it’s also largely a case of the grass being greener on the other side, and the more familiar risks being more real. Most Zionist Jews in America have no idea what it’s like to have to take cover in a bomb shelter, so they overestimate how comfortable they would be doing that, and by the time they become settlers, there is a sort of escalation of commitment in being Israeli.

      Ethnonationalism is one helluva drug.

      • i suppose there is some distinction for the zionist jews that have been conditioned to be fearful of “free parking” signs, because they thought they said “free palestine”, and the more reasonable fatigue of being a minority in a plural society. whereas, behind the walls of the entity, they imagine they won’t be subject to any microaggressions out in public.

its just dumb AF to me. being perceived as an outsider/other blows but unless it rises to the level of open lynching, I can’t imagine going somewhere and hearing shelling or being directed underground periodically.

Yeah, how long ago was it since Iran did the $47.86 bombing campaign that threatened to run the trillion dollar military out of defense systems?

Weeks? Months? Time has ceased to have meaning to me.

The point being that there aren’t many places on Earth with more bombs going off than Isntreal. I bet I would feel safer in a cell or a lawsuit or whatever than I would over there even if they liked me.

This is how I found out the Thor actress, Kat Dennings, is a zionist. As I initially misread the title as Kat Dennings because I am developing late-in-life dyslexia from all these fucking screens. And the problem was I could totally believe it when I thought about it for just a second. Of course Kat Dennings is a zionist…

During the interview with Sky News, Debra admitted she felt “abandoned” by her Hollywood pals after sharing her opinions following the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023. […]

"I feel like my life is everything before October 7 and everything after … I really expected the Hollywood community to join me. My entire career I’d been part of this very liberal, inclusive community.

“I don’t feel safe” -> look inside -> “people no longer uncritically support Israel”
