Even when I was young I didn’t go to clubs. I’ve been to one club (where unexplained blood dripped on me and I didn’t even get cool music like in Blade) and, I think, two concerts.

Neither was superior to anything I could enjoy at home.

I feel like I went from “I’m to young to go to a club” to “I’m too old to go to a club” in about six months.

Yeah i m really not enjoying concerts. I don’t do well standing for long periods of time either. I much rather be at home constantly blasting music I like. The only thing I was envious off was the couples busy making out in the back, that I could do lol

I’ve been to more rock shows than I can count, of all sizes, since I was a kid.

Wanna know what I hate, even from my favorite band? Encores. Just make the set the appropriate length and let’s not play games.

It would be cool if they were actual encores rather than this staged “oh we’re finished now, just kidding!” nonsense

Years ago, I saw Brian Setzer and his Big Band, and it was a crazy, raucous crowd of people of all ages, from young high school jazz band players, to old people who actually remembered the original Big Band era.

The concert was unbelievable, and the encores were REAL. They were so real, that eventually he had to say “We’ve played EVERYTHING in our book! We don’t have anything else!” And the crowd started screaming “PLAY IT AGAIN!” So they played two more songs over that they’d already played!

He finally said “No, we’re tired, go home!” And everybody left happy. Easily one of the most exciting shows I’ve ever experienced. No musical ensemble is hotter and more exciting than a real Big Band in full blow.

Right?! If it’s a given there’ll be an encore anyway, what’s even the point. Just means a whole lot of extra clapping for literally zero point. Like, at this point it’s just a part of the crowd work kit. I feel played every time

Agreed, but I’d be lying if i didn’t get hyped a few times growing up as they came back on and played a favorite song.

I got nerve damage on my toe moshing at the latest Blind Guardian concert so it’s probably time for me to hang it all up and enjoy my drink further back. It’s been a good run.

How young is youth? I’m entering mid thirties and I fucking love moshing. It’s basically the main reason I even go to live shows

Keep going until any combination of the following things happens:

        1. You get your first big injury and after/assuming it heals you realize you want to avoid another

        2. You realize the smaller injuries aren’t healing as well as they used to

        3. You get tired

        4. It stops being fun
