I am just before the fight with volcanusmon. I had level 18-19 rookie tier digimons (agumon, monodramon, etc.). I thought I’d digivolve them seeing how they were close to their level cap. So now all of them are level 1 champion tier 'mons. But because they are level 1 now their stats are worse. They have less HP, do less damage etc. Now I can’t beat this boss. What should I do here?
Fight some random encounters. Since your Digimon are level 1 and evolutionary stage doesn’t affect EXP requirements, they’ll rapidly gain levels, so it should be a pretty quick process to grind them up to useability.
I followed your advice and it worked. Thanks. Had to set aside an hour for grinding but put some music on and it wasn’t bad.
I had another question.
I have a Garurumon at level 18 out of 28 and 0% bond. Looking at its digivolving requirements, I don’t think it will reach the required stats even at max level. How do I go about digivolving this guy? Do I de-digivolve him, then train him up to level and increase bond so that stats carry over when digivolving? It’s not like I need him to digivolve but just asking out of curiosity.

You have a few options:
- de-digivolving will permanently increase your Digimon’s level cap
- you can load other Digimon into them to increase their level cap (note that this won’t work if they’re already at the cap, so do it before this happens)
- You can train up their stats at the Digi-farm to increase them without leveling up, assuming you have the appropriate equipment
Thank you. I was this close to quitting the game before your advice. I was on a discord channel for the game and its residents were completely unhelpful which is often the case on discord. I completed the sharkmon boss fight today.
No problem! Sorry to hear about the Discord channel, but sadly I’m not surprised. Elitist attitudes are depressingly common among gamers.
I have another question. Story wise, I just got to the Rebellion village. I am not sure how to approach evolving my fellas. For example, I have a Kabuterimon at level 31 out of 49. I could either make it train in digifarm and evolve it ASAP. Or I could wait for it to hit the level cap. But I am not sure which way is better.
I hope this turns out to be true. Time to grind.
