It’s hard to say how I feel about Jared Leto. On the one hand, he has these charges on him. On the other hand, he can’t act, he’s consistently the worst part of movies he’s in, and he basically has nothing good about him.

I kind of enjoyed when Christian Bale killed him with an axe in American Psycho, personally

Apparently, Christian Bale constantly acted like Patrick Bateman even off set. And they didn’t tell Leto he was about to be killed with an axe in that scene, so his reaction would be genuine. It’s great to know that, for a few seconds, Jared Leto thought Christian Bale was about to kill him with an axe.

I’m curious how they didn’t tell him. Wouldn’t that be in the script?

Did they assume correctly that he didn’t read it?

The only genuinely positive thing I could maybe say about him is he did do a good job playing a tech oligarch pervert in Blade Runner 2049.

Though in retrospect seems like that didn’t involve much acting.

Same with Kinski, it’s just abusive creeps playing an exaggerated version of themselves. Depp is similar, in that the only guy he can play is the mask he puts on to appear as a harmless goofball.

His band had like 2 ok songs and he looked kinda hot in an emo way in the music video for The Kill. He was also the only one who actually understood that Italians are unserious people in House of Gucci

That’s all the good things I have for him.

You’re right, I’ve never been able to take an Italian I’ve met IRL seriously. I’m not sure why.

Also you should rethink that wording about women and Chris Brown, it sounds pretty gross to me.

a lot of people eat at mcdonalds every day. they get diarrhea from it and go right back to show their support.

is mcdonalds that good? or do marketing and promotion tie-in campaigns create hegemonic consumption patterns?

    He’s a total moron too

A theatre near me was showing a play about God and Ai and Russia and some other nonsense. In the advertising package for it they featured Leto saying things like ‘this is one of the most thought provoking deep plays I’ve ever seen’ and all that.

I got offered free tickets to it because it was selling so poorly, and boy, it was fucking dreadful. So bad I almost saw it twice. Every time there was an awfully scripted or acted moment I’d smile first, and then chuckle when I thought of Leto in the expensive seats going ‘Wow. Just wow.’

They do, it just happens exclusively to marginalized people who do not have any clout or a team of PR guys and lawyers to fight back. Cancel culture has not affected a single white chud, but the term actually comes out of black queer communities, were losing your support network is one of the most serious threats because you have nobody else to rely on.
