To add to this, the CDU in Berlin published a campaign spot where they talked about “fighting antisemites” and at the same time showed a picture of people with Palestine flags.

Wow so uh I feel like there’s gonna be a sea change in German politics sooner than later due to shit like this, because this is wholly emblematic of how absolutely ass-backwards Germany’s war guilt has become in the political sphere.
Never again means “never again”. Full stop. It doesn’t mean “never again to the country of Israel which is actual just a relatively small subset of Jewish people all over the world” - and a whole shitload of non-Israeli Jewish people are not at all enamored with Israel these days.
