Just get a pizza and also get tacos.
I’m at the Pizza Hut, I’m at the Taco Bell… I’m at the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
Sorry for the earworm.
Whaat?
they said
SORRY FOR THE EARWORM
It’s ok, shit’s been stuck in my head for the last few weeks already… no idea why. It comes and goes, but it keeps popping into my head lol. Maybe I just need to give in and listen to it
Taco Hut sounds like a name for something else
TACO TOWN!
I just had to watch it again. Such a great skit. Jason Sudeikis’s yell at the end gets me every time.
This guy pizzas. And tacos.
This looks like the worst parts of a pizza and a taco mixed together, I’m sorry. It’d be crunchy in the wrong places and altogether too chewy.
The grease from the cheese and pepperoni would obliterate the shell I think.( Source - am greasy Scicillian)
Perfect if you want to invite all your Mexican and Italian friends over and end the night in a shallow grave that they agree to never speak of again.
Looks like a fast lane through the digestive system
That or the opposite. Nothing in between
The tacos will inevitably break too much after a few bites and everthing will start spilling on you, and it’s your fucking fault for doing that.
This is why I always go for a soft taco instead. Hard tacos want to be salad and will detonate into corn-chip shrapnel the instant you take that first bite, unmercifully dumping its contents onto the table and your lap in the process. I can’t imagine eating one mess-free, unless equipped with a jaw that unhinges and a supernaturally flexible neck.
and will detonate into corn-chip shrapnel
MVP comment
It looks like soft shells in the photo, and I’d generally agree that they’re better than hard shells.
Sounds like a skill issue. Just unhinge your jaw like a snake and eat it in one bite like normal.
If you’re turning these down… I hope you’ve got something better to live for
See, this is why I asked.
Guys it’s just tacos with pepperoni on top.
What would be real solid is making like, chorizo pepperoni slices or something instead of the regular pepperoni
The things that people from the US will eat, are beyond compression.
So is water.
Perfect response XD
Took me way too long to get it haha
This is obviously Italian you idiot
It almost looks like it comes from food hell, like a sinful pizza being tortured for all eternity.
I’m from the US and this looks like absolute garbage to me, but I’d argue French tacos are an even worse food crime.
Have you heard of Norwegian tacos?
I get reflux just from looking at that.
Ehhh looks way to greasy and fried to me and like a burn hazard
In my experience pizza <insert any food that isn’t pizza> is always disappointing.
Pizza bagels? Not great.
Pizza sandwiches? Also meh.
Pizza soup? Haven’t had it, but also probably not great.
Pizza pizza? That’s a calzone.
I expect pizza tacos to be just as dissappointing
Tf? Did this person just say pizza bagels aren’t great?!
Not everyone has to like what you like.
I stated my personal tastes regarding non-pizza pizzas, that is all.
Pizza rolls >> rolls
Structurally and logistically there is no way that a shell transports pizza better than crust. Not to fault the 'tilla, just a different instrument for a different song
Tbh, hard-shell tortillas don’t even transport tacos that well. I love 'em, especially coated in Dorito dust, but it’s a flawed system for sure.
No no. Box crispy shells suck. Real corn tortillas cooked in oil until crispy enough to hold a V shape but just soft enough to really envelope the filling. Holy crap that’s delicious! Dude, I’m making tacos tomorrow!
Yeah I was talking about the box shells, I didn’t realize that’s not what is in the picture. Oops!
This is why they invented the soft taco - cheese - hard taco layer combo. I need to try it sometime
Well, those weird crunchy taco shells make no sense. They’re a weird American thing, and I don’t understand how they became popular. I like some crunch with my food too, but not a shell that just shatters when it’s meant to contain the food.
A tortilla fried in a pan becomes somewhat crispy though, and it tastes better and holds together better. That’s what this picture looks like. It should be fine.
Good point, I didn’t look close enough at the pic and just assumed they were hard-shelled tacos.
They’re a weird American thing,
Well, no. They were invented in CaliMex cuisine, which evolved around California from Spanish and Mexican settlers, also taking some inspiration from Asian influences later.
Not only mission and california style buritoes, but also Calimex brought us taquitos as we know them, along with fish tacos.
Taco Bell probably brought them to the rest of the US and to some of the world, but they originated in Calimex.
But fusion and evolution have been the name of the game in food for centuries, even millenia. For example, look at how relatively recently tomatoes and potatoes went from the Americas to Europe and how much we consider them not to be fusion or newcomers now - but they were, not that long ago.
People disparage so many American cuisines, but especially Calimex and Texmex, and both of those are fully worthy of respect.
I’m not so sure. The best way to eat a pizza is to fold it, because that gives it more rigidity. You essentially turn it into a taco, but the shell has a slightly different texture. I have no idea why a tortilla wouldn’t hold up in this situation.
I’d use flatbread instead. Like the Gorditas that Taco Bell used to have in the 90s.
Honestly, while it’s hard to imagine eating one of those and actively disliking it, it’s almost certainly just much worse than a pizza, if pizza is what you wanted, and maybe a slightly novel taco if you wanted a taco.
I haven’t had one, I probably would, but it’s much more a novelty than a real improvement on either pizza or a taco and probably not something you’d feel like having again.
I recently heard about and tried pizza beans. Just some kind of white bean (any white beans) cooked, and then you cover them in pizza sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni and broil it until the cheese is melted and caramelized a bit.
Sounded weird as hell, and I thought the texture would be horrible but the beans actually just kinda gave the same texture you get with pizza dough. Not as crispy, obviously, but like a Detroit style crust.
I might do these tacos but I wouldn’t use the hamburger. Personally, I don’t like how ground beef goes with the other pizza ingredients (i don’t like burger on an actual pizza either)… But maybe refried beans would be great.
I’ve done similar things with pan-roasted vegetables (some mix* of zucchini, onion, carrot, celery, red bell or jalapeno, mushroom (roughly that order for most-to-least used) lid is used on-and-off). I’ll throw pepperoni bits in at the end to brown a bit.
If I’m lazy I’ll just add sauce after plated, sometimes cheese in the pan (not long enough to cause a mess), or throw it all in a tortilla and cook it again in an old electric grill (easier to dip it in sauce instead, too).
A few times I’ve pre-soaked pasta noodles in a 28oz bowl, microwaved them, drain then brown the noodles a bit in the pan with everything else and transfer it back to the noodle bowl and layer in the other pizza ingredients (w/further microwaving, plate-as-lid).
* usually 2-3 things, though I’ve done just zucchini+sauce before
Why not dunk it in batter and deep fry it? Cholesterol, heart burn and clogged arteries in one go, get in there!
TACO TOWN!!!
Hilarious!
