started a new job recently and im boymoding at work atm. i was expecting it to be cold because most offices ive been in are really cold, but its actually pretty warm. this is a problem because my boobs are getting big enough to be visible under most shirts so ive been wearing a tight bralet, a tshirt, and a hoodie but its too hot so im sitting here sweating wishing i could take off this hoodie but not wanting my coworkers to notice my boobs 😐
anybody have some advice on how to stay cool? im worried im just doomed to suffer or come out at work.

I’ve heard that flannel/plaid shirts are good for hiding curves because of the chessboard pattern on them. There’s even a joke in transmasc circles that compares them to the dazzle camouflage used in ships during WWI.
I can’t confirm they work. I can’t test it myself.
Transmasc(ish) enby chiming in to confirm it works - it’s my self-imposed work uniform because bras make me dysphoric af and commute time + work hours + summer heat makes binding for work untenable most days.
Wide leg pants also help to hide lower body curves if that’s also an issue.

There are lots of thin flannels, especially in women’s sections since fast fashion is usually thinner, lower quality material. Just try to avoid polyester or rayon and look for cotton or similar natural fibers that are less insulating and more sweat wicking.
You can get flannel-like button ups that are made from very thin, breathable cotton materials and layer a dark cotton t-shirt underneath. It’s not perfect but it’s better than a hoodie during the summer months

Alas, that makes what makes flannels such a double-edged sword. It’s an iconic sapphic aesthetic I see with other women, but then I put them on and I look way more butch than they do. Or maybe that’s just dysphoria talking idk. 😅
But yes flannels are great for boymoding.

Get yourself some breathable button-down shirts and wear them un-unbuttoned over a T-shirt.
Also, the busier the print, the less noticeable your chest will be.
Depending on the workplace, Hawaiian shirts or bowling shirts are also great (I have a couple with dragons on them and I love 'em). Lightweight, short-sleeved, fun patterns.
Alternately, a hoodie vest is a good middle-ground and I can wholly recommend Mishu’s: https://www.mishuboutique.com/collections/mens-outerwear The Alien Geo in teal looks rad and is super comfy. I got one at a festival and had to order another as a backup.
If you wanna keep rocking hoodies, a linen one might be more breathable.
Shirts with patterns might work.
Drink plenty of water, it’s refreshing and you’re sweating some.I wear a t shirt under my shirt and hunch over. I don’t think it does a great job of hiding them, but I think my coworkers just don’t expect me to have boobs and that does a lot of heavy lifting.
I don’t wear obviously feminine clothes and most of my shirts are loose fitting. Doesn’t matter if I wear a tight shirt, my bra is visible, etc though: no one has said anything at work except a chaser over a year ago.
My boobs aren’t exactly hidden; my mom asked me what I tell people when they ask because she thought it was obvious and her eyes have seen better days.
I’m not good at shaving consistently tho and there’s still a beard shadow even if I do. So we’ll see if laser changes that.
Point being people are blind unless they’re looking for it.
Take off your sweater, dont get heat stroke. Comfort over conformity.
She knows her situation better than we do. If she feels it’s not safe to be out yet, we shouldn’t assume that it is. “Comfort over conformity” assumes a lot about the type of environment a person is living in.

As an enby the way I’m boymoding is a non-white t-shirt with a sports bra.
I find that white t-shirts are too sheer and let the color of even my white sports bra show through so my recommendation is a light but non-white t-shirt for light colored sports bras and gray to dark shirts for dark to black sports bras.
I chose sports bras as they’re quite affordable and more accessible in comparison to binders but still provide the needed compression to hide boobage.
I used 2 things to help find good prices for my sports bras:
- Keepa (Amazon price history)
- Flipp (grocery flyer app) - I used this one using the search function at the top.

If I may butt in? White bras of any sort just glare through light and white colors. Champagne or light blush do better, but mostly champagne. A champagne bra with a white undershirt and whatever overshirt may work?
Yes, match the underwear to your skin tone if you want it to be invisible. That’s why most undergarments are available in some sort of medium tan/pink/brown. Even if you can’t match the color, matching the value can often be enough. A grey will almost always be less visible than white or black.
