With everything that has happened over the last 48 hours, I want to bring the conversation back to where it belongs: to the Palestinian people who are still being killed, still living under military occupation, and still fighting for their freedom.
That is what this has always been about. Not me. Not a tour. Not the headlines or the controversy. It is about Palestinians’ right to freedom, dignity, and safety in their own homeland.
I will be donating the entire $1 million of my net earnings from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour to six organizations working directly to support the Palestinian people. And I invite Robert Kraft to match my donation. Whatever we disagree about, perhaps we can agree on this: Palestinian lives are worth protecting. A Palestinian life is no less valuable than any other life on this earth.
I want to center the parents carrying their children into hospitals without the basic resources to treat them, and the physicians, paramedics, journalists, and aid workers who keep going back in. I want to center the organizers and activists who have paid real costs for standing with Palestine. Their risk is of a far different order than mine.
But aid alone cannot address the conditions that make it necessary. This is a manmade injustice, and I believe it requires immediate political change. Palestinians have lived for decades without basic rights and should not have to wait another day to be free.
That is where my focus will remain. I will continue to stand with the Palestinian people and their fight for liberation.
When the news cycle moves on, which it will, don’t move with it.

I really was not expecting Macklemore to be this cool. I thought he would be like a Vanilla Ice type lol
He’s from Seatle, In 2020 during the protests I was like “where’s Macklemore at? Why hasn’t he said anything about the racist Seattle police or been at protests?” He came out with a song about it after a few months and I thought maybe he was a poser. Lately I’m thinking he could have been there in black and a mask like a lot of people, maybe he actually is for real?
He came out with this song in 2005, when he was 25. It kind of got buried and went unnoticed in his career blow up, but there were signs even then.

I hadn’t heard of his name until this situation so I gave him a listen. He’s one of those artists where even if you don’t know their name you’ve probably heard at least one of their songs in passing. I’ve definitely heard at least a couple of these before.
He was inescapable in the mid-2010s. I honestly thought he had retired because I didn’t listen to anything new by him, except for the song he wrote about Hind Rajab.
For people like Kraft, the cruelty is the point. I would be surprised if he matches.

Even PBS was calling out Kraft over his bullshit “Antisemitism” by accurately pointing out he didn’t cancel Kanye concerts.
The promotional material for the Kanye shows even included a line about his “admiration for Hitler.” Not antisemitic by any current definition, apparently.

JDPON Robert Kraft, honestly. Macklemore flying the Palestinian flag on stage at an Ed Shereen concert would have been ten times more preferable to these ghouls than what they ended up doing LOL.
