“Why are a lot of trans people supporters of a philosophy that pushes liberation for the oppressed, with trans people being some of the most marginalized people in the scope of right-wing capitalist society?”

I need help with this one. I don’t think I can answer it on my own!

I was already a communist before my egg cracked, but if I wasn’t I would probably would become one pretty fast.

I can’t get gender-affirming care through the public system because I’m poor, and I can’t afford going private because I’m poor. Importing estrogen privately is also illegal here, so the state will literally destroy the medicine you need if you try to buy it from a foreign source above board. The only reason I’m able to get any treatment at all is because of the resources provided by the international trans community, made so me and the countless people in similar positions can get DIY hrt as safely as possible.

I can’t imagine many people having a positive impression of their country when that’s the reality they live in. And while it’s sad when the health system lets you down, it definitely makes you realise how important international solidarity can be.

This is why I hoard my HRT meds even though I don’t need to. If I ever come across a trans person who needs estrogen, I can hook them up so they don’t have to worry about up front expenses. I have something like 9 months of pill Estradiol and 5 months of Spiro (both calculated as beginner doses increasing every 3 months) just sitting in a box for someone that needs it. I’m very aware that I’m lucky that I can afford the care. I know not everyone can.

I believe it’s like any other medication. Keep it in a dry environment around standard room temps. What I do, however, is that my wife is still on pill Estrogen, so we FILO with her meds so it keeps the stock fresh so to speak. I don’t think any of the pills I have are more than 6 months old and I’ve been on injections for about 6 months.

That tracks. It turns out the oppressed are fans of revolutionary ideologies that oppose the systems oppressing them.

Almost half of the anarchists I know are queer, and almost all the queer folk I know are some form of socialist

It also goes a long way that of the people who don’t want you dead the libs are like “we’ll tolerate you if and only if you don’t cause trouble” and the commie bastards are like “bit weird are ya? that’s fine society should accommodate everyone. You can hack that right? then welcome friend”
