And I’m still trying to figure out why this is, but I suppose the simplest answer is that outrage is a better model despite nothing changing from a consequential POV

Because politics in the USA operates on the Pro Wrestling Face/Heel formula. This was supposed to be the Face year, but it became clear as the year went on that this Face couldn’t keep up the act and was turning heel. Now that the true heel is coming into office expect the news media to follow suit and report on his actions accordingly.

There are at times inter personal grudges that bleed into the performance, but all this does is enhance the show. Lesser Faces will come out of retirement to flaunt their virtues and ideals, to taunt and gesture to the crowd as the Heel enters the ring.

The Face, The Heel, and the Media (Announcers) work together to put on a lively and thrilling show, and when they get back stage, they high five and get changed in the same locker room. Their collective goal to profit off your attention. From our perspective, were the annoying friends, cousins, brothers, and sisters telling people we know that wrestling’s fake.

This is not serious analysis. Please don’t take it seriously.
