Was watching TV streams and after I closed down the apps, I caught a glimpse of a commercial for “Forgotten Jews,” a charity claiming to help feed elderly Jews living in poverty in former Soviet states (including Ukraine). They had a very old Holocaust survivor talking about not having enough food to eat. Okay, that sounds like a legit thing to have a charity for. So I search for their org and find their Wikipedia article. From the article:
The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (also referred to as IFCJ or The Fellowship) is a philanthropic organization founded in 1983 by Yechiel Eckstein[1] whose stated mission is to promote understanding and cooperation between Jews and Christians, and provide humanitarian aid for the State of Israel.

The organization also supports the Israeli Christian Recruitment Forum, a group led by Gabriel Naddaf, a Greek Orthodox priest from Nazareth, which aims to increase the number of Christian Arabs volunteering to serve in the Israel Defense Forces.
Overall, the Fellowship supports over 450 programs across Israel with 5000 volunteers involved.[15] According to The Christian Post, "The Fellowship … has placed nearly 3,000 bomb shelters in Israel to date.
Isreal is deliberately starving Palestinians and shooting them by luring them out with food. They then have the fucking audacity to roll out some little old lady to ask for food while they send donations to the IDF and Christian zionists. Absolute ghouls.

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. They have absolutely no shame. To use Holocaust survivors and then divert the money to the Isreali military? Do they ever stop and think “maybe this is wrong?”
Obviously they wouldn’t be Isrealis and zionists if the opposite were true. It’s just every time I think my expectations of zionism couldn’t be any lower, zionists somehow manage to go further down.

Israel was established in 1948 as a refuge for Jews in the wake of the Holocaust, and it makes great efforts to remember the 6 million Jewish victims of the Nazi genocide and to honor those who survived as heroes.
Yet among Israel’s estimated 165,000 survivors, roughly one in three lives in poverty, according to a survivors’ advocacy group. Though survivors receive government stipends, many still depend on food donations organized by Israeli charities like Chasdei Naomi.
“The ones who really need to be responsible for taking care of Holocaust survivors is the state of Israel. Unfortunately, that doesn’t exist,” said Tshuva Cabra, the group’s head of donations.
I never did see these on pbs but mostly the random other antenna channels. You should call your local pbs affiliate and give them shit about it.
I have not once seen someone fundraising for anything Jewish that didn’t immediately get funneled to “israel”. I know they exist, but I haven’t personally seen them.
