Her digital footprint, which included Tumblr posts on race science and polyamory, provided substantial fuel for social media mockery and tabloid headlines

Very polite way of phrasing ‘virulent racist regurgitates pseudoscientific garbage which has been disproven for years’

Weird how media is always impartial and unbiased when it comes to evaluating these types of cretins, I wonder why

    I’m just a smol bean, I didn’t know what I was doing!

… testifying that her former paramour directed her to commit crimes

That’s a very fancy way of saying, “we planned crimes together.”

At her 2024 sentencing, Judge Lewis Kaplan said that he had never seen someone cooperate with prosecutors like Ellison in his 30 years on the bench. Kaplan nevertheless told the court that, given the severity of the crimes, he had decided to sentence Ellison to jail time. He ordered her to forfeit $11bn in assets.

Depends if she’s got something stashed or really did cooperate fully

My wild guess based on nothing more than my wild hunches is that she’s got at least $50 million. “I don’t know…” and “I don’t remember…” are lies that cannot will not be prosecuted. If she managed to squirrel away 0.1% - that’s $11 million. I think it’s safe to assume she hid far more than that.

        -–

Edit. I realized that - of course - sometimes judges can and do put their knee on the neck of witnesses when they want to force them to talk. But I assume that’s insanely rare in the US when it comes to white collar crime. Judges take the liars at their word.
