I don’t know about you, but I’d rather be lonely than have my corpse be used to generate ad revenue for the Epstein class
This den of iniquity is the only social media I consume and sometimes even that little bit is too much.
You nerds are all I need <3
I’m very much the type of person that likes to keep my nerd life separated from my personal life. My boss doesn’t need to know my spotify playlist. People who I know only online don’t need to have access to my real life friends. Etc etc.
I hate that I’ve been made to feel like a boomer my whole life because of this, even when I was a teen.
i’ve always been a “it’s none of my business unless they decide to tell me” kind of guy and all i ask for in return is the same kind of privacy
My partner sees me checking hexbear and she asks how my terminally online friends are doing. That’s like parasociality one time removed.
reciprocal parasociality

The reddit atheism leaving my body every time I am deeply disgusted by how the Epstein class plays God.
Welp, I guess we’re gonna have to go kill God again
Literally out of a Black Mirror episode jeez
All the people I knew on facebook when I had it were acquaintances I had in person. Matter of fact, I’ve never met a single stranger off facebook (probably for the best) contrast that to the people I’ve met here on hexbear or on traditional forums (my first gf I met through an online forum). Social media in my eyes is just used to cultivate your brand and sell your image to other people and show off. I’d be shocked if anyone actually made any meaningful connections through those hellportals, especially fashbook.
I met some cool musicians from… oh shit, that was MySpace. I’m old. At least back then, artists could share a lot more easily without a lot of intermediaries. Then Zuckerberg came along and it was all people taking pictures of their food or whatever.
Social media is a cancer that is at the root of so many brsinworms and the hegemony of the worst ideology in decades, but it’s also responsible for me knowing the Arctic Monkeys and them making it big, so who’s to say if it’s good or bad.

reading Karl Marx’s twitter account posting in 2027:
Sorry, you get the Assassin’s Creed version
He’d probably make angry posts about Stirner
[Marx and Engels - The German Ideology] has some real bangers against stirner

My favourite Marx “post” is definitely the conclusion from Holy Family tho

Wait Stirner was real ? I thought Stirner was a lil guy marx invented
Yeah, “Stirner” was the alias of Johann Kaspar Schmidt, a prussian schoolmaster and young hegelian
Marx and engels rly go after him for writing as he did while being a literal schoolmaster instilling discipline into children (they mention he is a prussian schoolmaster more than 10 times iirc).
Imo referring to “Stirner” in quotation marks emphasises the disconnect between his theoretical and practical life, as well as just being funny
even conducting video calls in their style
Psychotic
I think it’s hilarious that I stopped posting on social media around the same time I came out and started transitioning, so the AI clone would be someone I don’t even recognize and that my loved ones would think is a stranger.
It’s a terrifying concept, to be digitally detransitioned like that. But it feels so absurd and foreign it just makes it funny to me.
