Snip:

Only one in four Americans approves of the US military campaign against Iran, a Reuters/Ipsos poll published on Monday has indicated.

The weekend poll of roughly 1,300 US adults found only about 27% approved of the strikes, 43% disapproved, and 29% were unsure. Moreover, 56% of Americans – including one in four Republicans – said US President Donald Trump, who has ordered strikes in Venezuela, Syria, and Nigeria in recent months, is “too willing to use military force” under the pretext of advancing US interests.

While 55% of Republicans approved of the strikes, 42% said they would be less likely to back the Iran campaign if US troops are killed or injured. The poll closed before the Pentagon confirmed late on Sunday three US servicemen had been killed and several wounded.

Fuel price fears also weighed: 45% said they would be less likely to support the campaign if gas or oil prices rise. Global oil prices jumped by up to 13% on Monday on concerns over tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow waterway between Iran and Oman that carries about 20% of global oil and gas supplies.

Look Americans didn’t do shit when the Iraq invasion happened outside of bullshit protesting. They are not going to hold anyone or anything accountable regardless of how much they bark about how their Slave owner masters gave them the right for guns. Its a nation of pussies who only punch down. Fuck the United States Of Pedophiles

Americans have had enough evidence of their government’s cruelty and war crimes. Let’s admit it - none of it has been enough to make them revolt.

To not be suicidal, a revolt takes a lot more than lot of unhappy people. Criticism of the U.S. populace is more than fair on many fronts, but it’s hard to overstate the difficulty of the task.

they want to act like life is simple black and white and the reason things are bad is bc evil people make them bad. it’s just neoliberal ideals turned inwards, appealing to the metaphysical and regarding those on the opposition side as irredeemable monsters rather than uneducated victims, it’s unhelpful and reductive.

I totally agree with the sentiment and the anger, but don’t use “pussies” as a slur. Pussies are good and strong. I’d rather call USians weak cowards who only punch down. At least those who either lack class consciousness or have accepted a class compromise and entered the labor aristocracy.

I dread it coming up around my sous chef who got all indignant about my lack of support for the revolters and was all “Go ask [iranian coworker!] about it!”

Idk how she gets to such positions when she reads more than i do but i guess maybe liking contrapoints cancels any and all literacy based stat gains

Rubbish. Americans as a whole, TIME AND TIME AGAIN, have allowed their government to commit war crimes around the world. Obviously they’re not bothered enough to revolt. Americans are letting the world down. You deserve the government you have, as someone said - but unfortunately for the rest of the world, we’re paying for your psychotic rulers.

Furthermore, too many Americans are deflecting onto Israel as though the poor US government is being led by their tail into a war they don’t want. And let me guess, the majority are going to wait until the next election to vote a good one in because “This time, THIS time they will finally be on our side!” I don’t feel like I’m being reductive. I’m calling Americans out on what their problem is. This delusion of living in a democracy needs to go.
