I encourage people to try baguette with butter and chocolate (they all need to be high quality, no supermarket off-brand bullshit). It is really good.

That’s not a new thing. We had that in Germany in the 80s

I might actually have eaten that in Denmark as well on vacation back when :)

        Pålægschokolade

Oh wait no - I had a look, that looks completely different from the texture. Need to try it when I get a chance next :)

They do that in Germany too.

There is even specific chocolate you can buy in any supermarket, in many different flavours. I am guessing the sweet chocolate and sourdough is what makes it so nice.

Sauce: my mouth is scarred from over consumption!

You suppose to spread the butter, not to take some full slice; but it’s surprisingly good

          Totally.

Now to the real French question: Salted or plain butter?

Surely they would use salted butter, right? A bit of salt elevates chocolate so.

I totally agree, but in France there is a regional fight between good and evil butter (historically linked to a medieval taxe on salt).

This is like most suggestions from my friend’s toddler; the first two parts are legit and the third is adorably insane.

Rather than that much butter, try cheese. A mild chedar goes really nicely with a moderately rich chocolate. And instead of putting it in one of those mouth lascerating horrors, put it in a bread product you can eat without making a blood sacrifice!
