It’s kind of sad that there are captains willing to risk the lives of their crew, indeed sacrificing their crew, in the name of profit.
Motherfuckers read Moby Dick and were like, ‘I would’ve killed that whale’
The lesson they got from Moby Dick is that Ahab just didn’t want it bad enough.
I literally would have though I’m built different
Ship Captains are spiritually small business owners
What can you do as ship crew when your boss decides to do put your life at risk like that? I know almost nothing about sailors except that they get exploited excessively. Do they have an option to refuse to come with, or are they not allowed to leave the ship in a foreign country?
In any case it is a horrifying situation.
Generally they’re not allowed to disembark. Shit is beyond fucked
In many (most?) cases they are not allowed to leave the vessel in foreign countries.
God DO be great though
Narrator: The ship was part of a USian shadow fleet trying to evade the sanctions.
Complete violation of the law!
the Iranians have good blowing up tankers with missile game but they need a bit of work on what’s really important: camera stabilization
In this case it was an unmanned boat with explosives rather than a missile, and I assume they ducked to avoid shrapnel.
I dunno that I’d call it a boat personally - I’ve seen other articles where they’re referred to as “underwater drones” - watch the water near the beginning and there’s a blue glow that quickly moves towards right where the explosion happens.

“We’re gonna blow up another tanker, but first let me tell you about today’s sponsor: Hello Fresh.”
