I don’t want to let her off the hook for her repugnant views, but I do think we have a real issue with globally rising mental illness, and it seems like there is pipeline for people with certain types of mental illness finding Trump very appealing.

M.I.A.s political views are slightly unhinged: On one hand, she is supporting free immigration, female empowerment, outspoken against genocide, supported wikileaks and the English Labor Party but then is anti vacc and is endorsing Trump…I cannot make any sense of that.

I really liked her early music from 2005.

The wikileaks to right winger pipeline is a very clear line that goes through Russian psyops.

They can’t compete with the US economically if you look at GDP, so the most rational way to fight back is with psyops and phishing schemes. Much like the war in Iran has probably caused a bunch of DDOS attacks on different points in our internet infrastructure. I used to work QA for a company making jerky, and while you might not expect it, we were hit with tons of them. It’s cheap-ass warfare for its effectiveness.

I seriously am starting to believe everyone is in it for the money only, they’ve got ties to trump regime somehow making them money and don’t want to fault it while they’re ahead. It doesn’t make sense other wise.

And not the English, Welsh or Scottish kind. Not even Irish of any kind.

    From The Article:

M.I.A. responded to Cudi hours later on X, writing in all caps, “I WROTE ILLYGAL ON THE MAYA LP A SONG FROM 2010. I STARTED THIS INTRO TO THE SONG WITH THE STATEMENT SAYING I’M ILLYGAL, AND I SAID MY TEAM HASN’T GOTTEN VISAS YET. THEN PLAYED A SONG THAT HAD LYRICS SAYING “FU&% THE LAW”, WHICH I STILL BELIEVE, IF THE LAW IS UNJUST F@%& IT. DO NOT GASLIGHT MY WORDS. THAT IS THE WORK OF SATAN. I WROTE BORDERS AND ILLYGAL AND PAPER PLANES BEFORE YOU THOUGHT IMMIGRANT RIGHTS WERE COOL. I’VE HAD THSES BATTLES BY MYSELF WITHOUT THE HELP OF MILLIONS OF FANS BACKING ME . I DON’T NEED THIS VIRTUE SIGNAL ERA TO ALL OF A SUDDEN ERASE AN ENTIRE LIFE I’VE LED. JESUS WAS AN IMMIGRANT AND A REBEL. I HAVE NO APPOLGY FOR THE JUDGEMENTAL THE WICKED AND THE IGNORENT, FOR THOSE ARE SPIRITS THAT WE MUST OVER COME IN OUR LIVES AND IN THIS WORLD. JESUS RETURNS TO LEAD THE WORLD JUSTLY BECAUSE THERE IS INJUSTICE IN THIS WORLD . IM PROUD OF THOSE WHO FIGHT FOR IT EVERYDAY. GOD BLESS YOU. 🙏🏽 GO LISTEN TO M.I.7.”

The fuck did I just read? Has she hung out with Kanye too often?

Ma’am you became relevant because you had a silly song with sound effects that became popular because it was featured in a movie about weed. that’s it. that’s all you had going for you.

No way this huge track never hit #1

The latter’s single “Paper Planes” (co-produced by at-the-time partner Diplo) peaked at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 and received a nomination for the Grammy Award for Record of the Year at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards.

          It was so big!

Okay, please help me out, brothers and sisters and non-binary siblings. She doesn’t sound at all like she is making a right-wing point to me.

I WROTE BORDERS AND ILLYGAL AND PAPER PLANES BEFORE YOU THOUGHT IMMIGRANT RIGHTS WERE COOL.

She was in favor of immigrant rights before it was cool, that’s the opposite of what she’s accused of. The entire post is a wild restatement of her pro-immigrant, anti-law stance.

There may be an additional wrinkle: A republican in the UK is not an American Republican. That is, she is probably advancing an anti-monarchist stance instead of a pro-GOP one. In the UK, a republican is a staunchly anti-establishment, fringe left figure.

TIL the gal famous for her stance on free immigration is backing the dude famous for “making Mexico pay” for his border wall.

Everyone is so focused on her comments, but what about her music? How’s her new album?

Well, I have a “policy” with albums that I have to listen to it all the way through. But I broke that rule with two albums this year and quit this one by track 6. MI7 was one of them. It suuuucccckkks.

Not really any reason to give her music a chance if we know she is a Trump fascist. Plenty of music out there not made by fascists.

Her (anti-vax) rhetoric probably played zero part in the decision to have her on tour, at least until she started affecting the bottom line.
