That’d be a largely misleading idealist line of thought that’s comparable to the critiques of porn entertained by the sex negative wing of radfems in the 1980s. That turned out to be very useless and in some cases actively harmful (side note: in the case of some TERFs involved in such discourse, it was also hypocritical, as they turned out to be actual pedophiles, such as Germaine Greer who published an entire coffee table book full of CSAM).

I think it’s more useful to look at the material factors at play here, and honestly sexual exploitation by tourists from the imperial core is a pattern we see all over the world, including the cases involving CSA. In fact, a lot of highly prominent cases of statutory SA involve rich men targeting children from pauperized backgrounds, and intercontinental tourism combined with overexploited countries in the Global South makes that mode of predation at least occassionally available to large parts of the general populace. We see the same with European tourists in Thailand or American tourists in Haiti.

Normalize the death penalty for these monsters; unfortunately I also know that if a global South country sentences one of these disgusting perverts to death, Western media will demonize the country and do everything in their power to avoid talking about what the person did.

I still recall when (Thailand?) sentenced three Australians to death for smuggling drugs into the country everyone threw a fit and talked about Thailand as though it was the country that was the problem and not the drug smugglers who usually target children to turn them into addicts for life.
