Maybe it’s just my algo, but first I see Any Austin saying he doesn’t “get” stew in a video. Them some guy on Insta was holding a rotisserie chicken and saying “soup people be like ‘I wanna drink this’”, then some other guy on Insta calling soup “adult baby food”.

Is there some soup related meme going around I missed?

Soup is an adult food as fuck. You gotta have leftovers, you gotta make stock. It tskes some damn time. Making soup is something you plan to do a day or so before.

I think for thinner soups we need to move away from bowl and spoon. Thats for stew and chilli. Thinner soups should be drank from a mug. I like having a mug of soup nearby at work cause im a kitchen guy and mire often than not i dont have time to stop and eat. Always having soup on hand helps there. I’m considering a thermos for every day carry soup. I can just keep some soup in my bag when I go out. If im hungry I dont have to pick up food or whatever, I eat the soup.

What I like about soup is that the broth combines all its ingredients into a flavor Voltron, so if you’re a picky eater like me, it’s a great way to incorporate foods into your diet that you find overwhelming on their own.

There is so much I will eat if you just simmer it in dark vegetable stock.

I’m the same, I can’t stand cooked carrots, I’ve tried, I just can’t. And it’s not a case of me just having them poorly prepared growing up like brussel sprouts (love those delicious little guys roasted or fried), I’ve tried them many different ways and I just can’t stand them.

But simmer them in some stock with potatoes, celery, seasonings and I’ll eat cooked carrots every day of the week

If you and your family don’t cook well, your first exposure to soup would just be Campbells or powdered soup. If at all. Which are fine, but not exactly great. Not exactly having a consommé or a kaishuibaicai

Literally no one. OP is just trying to hype up soup by saying someone, somewhere talked shit about soup to get people to defend soup.

Apparently the social media influencers think that’s more effective than just asking people. Cunningham’s Law states that the best way to get people online to answer your question isn’t to ask it — since people are afraid of being wrong — but to state an incorrect answer, because a lot of Internet commenters will bend over backwards and even risk being wrong themselves to get one over on someone they think is wrong. So OP has invented this boogeyman who says soup is bad so everyone riles up and defends soup.

There may have been someone who said some bad things about soup at one point, but they aren’t the point. You and your engagement with OP is.

I could see it being an astroturf to steer people away from buying crockpots and leaving the food rat-race.

But maybe the algorithm is dead-set on the conviction that you want anti-soup content and you want it now.

Finally someone who’s willing to stand up for what they believe.

Also soup is goated. Here, try this one. It’s soup flavored.
