He’s still against a billionaire tax in the state where he’s governor though. So as is customary for establishment Dems, he’s only in favor of talking about it, not actually doing it

Poor California democrats. At least New York had plenty of terms with a republican state senate majority. Californians have to depend on the ignorance and stupidity of their voters.

The truth is that Californians are just as reactionary as Texans. Remember this is the state that said no to gay marriage back in the day and more recently said no to giving Uber drivers W2 forms.

The trouble with California is that it’s the state with the most Americans in it, and Americans fucking suck.

He thinks he’s pretty smooth doesn’t he? He knows this whole thing is going to bite him in the ass hard in 2 years when he runs for president.

They ran commercials 24/7 on TV for the past 6 months about how he’s in lock-step agreement with NOT ONLY democrats, but ALSO republicans in rejecting the billionaire tax bill for California. Somehow that was supposed to make it seem like this tax must be a really bad idea.

Instead it makes him look like the piece of shit we already know he is.

Now he wants to pivot and make it look like he’s rejecting it in CA because it’s just not doing ENOUGH. If we can do it NATIONALLY then it would really be worth it!! Plz trust me bro!!

But of course he also knows it wouldn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of happening nationally, and even if by some razor slim margin somehow it made it through the US congress, and if at that point he actually signed it into law (of course in his mind he’s president by this time), the final backstop is the US Supreme Court which would strike it down anyway.

If it can’t pass in CA, then it won’t pass anywhere else, and he knows that.

Fuck gruesome Newsom. I say pass it in CA, and then do the national tax too.

He could win my vote if he bailed out the schools in his state that have mass layoffs and budget crisises. But he’s too concerned with winning hypothetical Republican votes in the future and knows that giving money to CA schools would make him unpalatable to conservatives (they already think he’s a demon pedophile )

He can only win my vote if he goes and personally apologizes to every single unhoused person who he kicked while they were already down. And by “apologize” I mean “give them a free home and all the care they need indefinitely”. Until he does this he will never, ever get my vote. His homelessness policies have been monstrous. He’s a sick twisted demon.

Yes, we definitely need more taxes that billionaires will simply use their accountants to avoid paying. And even if we collect that money, we should just dump it into isn’treal or the military industrial complex or the police.

Even if this guy became the next incarnation of Lenin, I wouldn’t think about supporting him until he returned all that stuff he stole in person in front of a camera from homeless people. Just to start.

Hey, their uber-strict standard of “blue no matter who” is incredibly effective at um, something.
