Completely and utterly incomprehensible
Actually I kinda get it. Functional is left wing, imperative is right wing. Strong typing is authoritarian and weak typing is libertarian. Rust ends up being the big exception to this rule, since it should be strictly auth left, but most of the others match.
Now the OS chart is kinda weird. Is left wing microkernel and right wing monolithic kernel, while authoritarian and libertarian are some other categories about OS’s that I am too ignorant to tease out?
rust should be auth left for sure. the security focus understands the true reality of the world - that we must practice siege programming
idk how the hell it is libertarian, it has a KGB-operated compiler built in that will execute you for writing bad code
And trans people love Rust so obviously it’s communist.

Maybe it’s how mainstream a particular distro is? It explains why NetBSD is to the left of FreeBSD.

Y-axis is either how much of a hassle it is to set up the distro or how many packages are installed by default. It explains why ArcoLinux is just above Arch Linux.
Looking at this shit like “you know, maybe the intellectuals do need to be sent to the countryside”
Matlab being fash feel so right for some reason
That moment when all my favorite languages are either centrist or auth-right

Imperative programming just clicks with my brain better
prepare to be re-educated, you will oxidize. you will rust.
I am the ultimate centrist. Python
The worst eh?

famous idealist Karl Marx
Ain’t no way Hasan D. Piker is more realist than Madeline Pendleton
the worst i could find in my saved images

Ooooh its doing psychic damage oooooohhh
Rust should be more authoritarian as the compiler doesn’t let you have fun writing code that’s fucked :(
For the Linux distro one, I think I’d switch the whole “libertarian right” and “libertarian left” pannels around, given as slackware, gento arch and LSF all use some version of the GPL, the three first are community-managed, amd LSF… Well, it’s not really a distro, so I guess user-managed would be the right word ? Meanwhile, the BSDs tend to use some variant of the BSD licence.
GPL and BSD are all open-source license, but GPL is a share-alike, or copyleft license, meaning a program based on a GPL software must also use the GPL. BSD meanwhile is a permissive license, which allows grabbing it and making a closed-source software out of it, which is more corporate-friendly, so more right-wing in my opinion.
I agree with Ubuntu being on the right, despite being GPL, since it’s managed by a company (canonical). Same for Fedora (well, it kinda got a hybrid status, it’s partly managed by Red Hat, but more community oriented than RHEL and accepts commits from more different sources). ChromeOS is obvious. But I rrally don’t get why any other Linux distros get out on the authoritarian right.
And Red Star OS ? The official state OS of North Korea ? On top right corner of the authoritarian right ? I would need to read their reasonning.
oh I found a few that made my brain hurt, gimmie a sec

“being gay is immoral” is more of an aspiration to me. i want to make it look immoral. i want to be so gay that everyone is like ‘damn calm down’
“supports PETA or Eco-terrorism”
“supports No Kings or Ansar Allah”
Alaskaball is a liberal? Smdh I thought better of you.

Devuan and Artix being authoritarian left when they’re the most libertarian ever (they don’t have working software).
Imagine
Top left can of soybeans top right can of baked beans
Bottom left can of four beans mix bottom right can of jellybeans
Okay and now you’ve done that, imagine you’re getting mad at it
So Haskell/Ocaml make you a commie?
The only places I know of that use those languages are hedge funds.
On the one hand thats definitely true. otoh the most progressive (and even socialist) programmers I know are into FP langs like those.
More importantly, I enjoy some of the languages in auth left so they’re acceptable there in my book.
TIL that enjoying assembly makes me a

I will not resist when I am sent to the functional reeducation camps; I will embrace the virtues of idempotence.

i knew there was a reason i hated matlab
the linux one made me irrationally mad for a second lol
