    Did you know it’s illegal for Americans to go to Cuba for tourism?

    That’s not “evil, authoritarian” Cuba’s law. That’s the US’ law. Same situation in the DPRK

      funny how that works eh, you’d think they’d want people to travel to these places to see how lucky they are to live in the good old US of A.

        Right, though there’s a lot of rules on that. Can’t stay in pretty much any hotel or resort on the whole island. Or any government run business (the US publishes a huge list). You also need a “full time itinerary of approved activities” while you’re there and you’re supposed to keep your receipts for 5 years subject to audit by the US government.

        The enforceability of all of this is… Questionable though. Keep in mind that that can change depending on who’s in charge in Washington.
