Who didn’t see this coming? It was clear. These corrupted politics should be ashamed of what they did. No surprise that Europeans don’t trust their politics. They need to act (what they won’t do). They have to stand up and say GFY. Europeans, even if I’m not fine with the global idea, have all in their hands to use the US of Trump as a ladder to gain power and influences. They would put the US as a second country. But for this, they need to step up and manage their own way away from neolibs.
The solution to this is to stop putting our faith in government and live a more localized, tribal lifestyle.
Just gonna point out the obvious - this “tribal lifestyle” you speak of would be amazing… for about 1% of the population that would be happy with a subsistence agrarian lifestyle.

To a lot of us, it’s a pejorative term that refers to the mindset of a small group that’s fiercely hostile to other groups (while only being protective to their own.) Take for example Musk’s “lottery” in the US. If not technically contrary to law, very much contrary to the spirit of the law, and while I suspect that some kind of “action” was commenced, it was certainly never progressed in any meaningful way. Closing the gate not only after the proverbial horse has bolted, but after that horse has run amok, sired a foal on the prize mare, and grown old and died.
It was hard enough when nana was sharing memes on facebook or your second cousin was getting radicalised on youtube. Now social platforms are openly influencing “engagement” with bots, very obviously supporting far right rhetoric in the name of “free speech”, and avoiding any suppression of misinformation.

I was there when the first far-right parties took hold in Europe. Politicians were looking into censoring the shit out of them from the internet, but then “free speech absolutists” started to cry “that would be like the Soviet Union, they killed a lot more people than the nazis”.
While European nazis doxxed people for calling them nazis, redefining the word “racism” to mean “irrational hatred of an ethnic group with the sole intent of evil”, etc., hate speech laws did not catch up with them. We even had early examples of nazis radicalizing gamers through shitty games (one infamous example is by Hungarian “centrist satirist” Tamás “Tomcat” Polgár, by writing the most (in)famous Hungarian language text adventure games, filled with “satirical” racism), and I wouldn’t be surprised if the alt-right later on learned from their successes and mistakes.
Best we got is Hungary expanding the definition of Holocaust denial to include the “um, ackchually, we’re only questioning the suspiciously high numbers” types, which is now barely enforced by Fidesz.

I had never heard of this Adrian Dittmann business. I did a bit of searching and there is also this, from the conservative publication The Spectator, arguing that Dittmann is a real person:

Here a professional does some research on audio clips from both Dittmann and Musk and comes to the conclusion that while it’s not impossible they are different people, it’s indeed highly improbable.
I’ve read The Spectator story and I’m unconvinced. Why does Dittmann seem to know a lot of about the companies internals or know Musk’s mind? Why do they have eerily similar opinions on nearly everything?
Musk is seriously unhinged, and I don’t think he actually spends a moment of time working as much as he likes to pretend he does. He even got outed for faking his POE ranking in the last few days. (This was after previously being kicked for “cheating” and then denying he cheated) He pays people to make him seem like a more “Epic Gamer” than he actually is. I don’t believe he’s above making fake accounts mostly because he’s literally been caught doing it before and having to admit it in a deposition. He was caught posting under an account made to look like his own son, was posting weird babytalk and weird sex talk.
Coupled with this photo and rumors that he was kicked out of the Bay Area Babyfur community in 2009 is all I need to know personally.
The idea that he couldn’t be Adrian Dittmann is honestly sillier than him being Adrian Dittmann, in my opinion. Further, nothing in the article is solid proof of much of anything, especially because Musk can unilaterally take over anyone’s account because he owns the site. Even if the account at one point was owned by a real Adrian Dittmann, the question is whether or not that person still really has control over the account.
Recall that Musk stole the X account from a longtime user. He is obviously not above stealing user accounts if it benefits him.
Finally, his laugh man. You can fake a lot about another person, but a laugh is hard hard hard hard to mimic. Why is Dittmann’s laugh a fucking exact replica of Musks? Even if their voices sounded similar, the likelihood of them both laughing the exact same way is even more unusual.
