This is best exemplified by carbrains claiming if you get stuck behind a slower vehicle such as a bicycle it’s only natural that you turn into a bloodlusting psychopath but like this happens to me daily because grandma earnest and me share the same not-even-one-bicycle-wide bikepath. Since I neither intend to hit a pedestrian or bunnyhop a sick trials line across some cars I just ride slower for a bit.

The thing about how bicyclists throw themselves infront of cars? Guess what: An alarming amount of people play crossing traffic by ear and since I don’t make “vroom vroom” noises while riding they literally just straight up walk infront of me, on the road. Half the time they don’t even notice me emergency braking and going behind them.

Not to mention that everything that makes a road bad for cars makes it actively dangerous for bikes

Still remember the time I was driving home from work and I saw a cyclist hit a pothole and get tossed in front of my car

Thankfully, I was driving slowly and giving him space so I stopped and helped him back on his feet

The guy behind me probably would’ve crushed him

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0F229EkXHzM (short video about cross the road in Vietnam as a pedestrian)

Car-supremacy is a psychological disorder. Humans moving independently in large volumes through shared spaces is very normal in a lot of places. I’ve seen it when traveling outside of the US mostly. It’s a cooperative mode of transportation coordination, so it doesn’t really work out if the dominant culture and infrastructure is designed from a perspective of hyper-individualism.

The closest thing to this in amerikkka is social bike rides like Critical Mass, where the flocking behavior that comes so naturally gets to exist in the public roads very briefly.

The carbrained also don’t want to acknowledge their little ‘whoopsies’ could put cyclists in the hospital or the morgue.

I had a guy run into me from a complete stop in front of a pedestrian crossing. You can’t even trust a car stopped in front of where they’re supposed to give way to you because you don’t know if they’re actually looking out from their own little bubbles
