Literally hell. We can put the reeducatable bourgeoisie to work after the revolution breaking up and deconstructing streets to convert into denser living with actual green space. They get dropped off in a parking lot, handed a pick axe, and 8 hours to gather XYZ pounds of asphalt and cement material as a quota.

That sounds kinda fun (and injurious to my body, but I’m okay with that), how do I sign up?
You’re probably less likely to get heat stroke or another workplace injury in that scenario than working in any of the places in that picture lol
Wouldn’t it be cathartic to tear up these scars on the earth and then plant gardens and parks? I’d maybe get into it too. That’s basically exercise right?
Depending on the quota it’s either a good workout or extreme permanent damage to your body, better read the fine print before you sign up
We’re not monsters. It can be humane work.
Fucking Texas is one of the worst states, consistently, no matter what the criteria or year. They are committed to being a stand out terrible shithead state no matter the state of the rest of the states.
In an airplane crash and you’re plummeting to your doom and the drunken lout seated behind you is still kicking your seat? That’s probably a Texan, fulfilling their commitment to being the worst of whatever’s at hand.
How do you know someone is from Texas?
Dont worry, they’ll loudly tell you
How Americans see Texans is how the rest of the world sees Americans
Alas no. California is the most consistently hated state.
You expect us to have to see DIRT, like the stuff the ground is made of?

Water? Like the toilet?
We only drink Dr. Pepper here
Meanwhile in Beijing, urban reforestation has increased tree cover rate from 38% in 2012 to 45% in 2025. An estimated half the city has some sort of green coverage now, and rising.
Yeah America is wasted on the Americans
the texan is so cursed a creature he has made his own hell and not only loves it, he eagerly heaps ever greater calamities on top of it

That image looks like the heat is distorting the roads like a mirage.
I mean… the state is full of SUVs with unironic “pave the planet” bumper stickers on them.
Were you expecting more?
Well, now you’re just being unreasonable. When we added turf grass everyone complained about the countless gallons of water we wasted. So we did the only thing available to usTexas should be kept as a museum to remind us how bad it got a few hundred years from now
God Emperor of Dune keeping Museum Texans
You assume anyone in those areas actually spends any time outside, as opposed to heating up the area even more with air conditioning.
Holy shit I used to live right at this intersection. I know exactly where this is. It’s in West Plano off the Dallas North Tollway and Parker Rd. This was like 10 years ago now, but still weird to see it pop up like this.
how can you tell, it looks like just about any part of houston too
The Cinemark in the middle is what immediately stood out, which got me to look closer at the Eatzi’s at the bottom that I used to get food from quite a bit. From there everything else was easy to recognize. This is definitely that intersection. It’s the DNT as the border on the left, Parker (Rd?) as the bottom, and Parkwood Ave as the right-side street. There’s even more parking lot going south as there’s a Tom Thumb on the other side of the street to the south and a Target a bit more south of that. Just huge swaths of pavement all through that area.
Yer doxxing yourself
You can tell this is Dallas from space.
I know it’s important etiquette, but I can’t quite figure out how knowing the general area I lived in over a decade ago is going to help anybody here - not that I’m even anyone worth being doxxed.
not that I’m even anyone worth being doxxed.
When fascist go into “counter terrorism” killing sprees they have quotas to fill, they don’t care if the skeletons in the unmarked mass graves were actually doing praxis or just friends with someone whose roomate maybe did.
Unfortunately for them I live in China now, so they’re going to have to go through a few barriers to get at me. But I don’t disagree with the general importance of opsec online.
The hellish make-believe biomes of Tatooine and Coruscant are more hospitable
The Devil whispered in my ear, “You cannot handle the heat”.
I growled back, “I am the heat”.
I don’t think you can find a single place in Europe that looks anywhere close to this mess. Even in just a tiny localised area. Maybe a giant stadium or super Ikea car park?
Looks like Dachau. (or any number of small German industrial cities, at least the industry part of those cities)
Dachau

Pretty much the closest thing I could recreate but it’s absolutely not a fair picture of Dachau because this is the absolute worst example, industrial yard right next to the train station. And it’s still not as bad.

You are in Munich. You need to look for small industrial cities that usually surround the larger cities to strike gold.
Dallas has some nicer spots as well. In Europe they just usually don’t put the ugliest parts in the city centers. A lot of American cities feel like they started as a gas station and grew from there.
You’re right, i wasn’t in Dachau, it gave me the wrong place, that’s more like it.

Again it’s a totally unfair comparison though because it’s an ultra industrial area. Basically nothing but factories and cargo.
most is stores and car dealerships
But you are right that almost nobody lives in these districts.
