registering for the draft isn’t joining the military, it’s giving a government agency your name and address at gunpoint so they can have a slightly easier time doing conscription on you later. in the event that a trump dipshit decides to do conscription even though the career boots don’t want conscripts, you’d have every opportunity to get some kind of exemption, leave the country, piss and shit your pants, kill the guys they send to abduct you, etc.
