    Hmm. I don’t think I’ve ever had a cat named for a food….

Elliott, Gizmo, Tiny Dinosaur, Ellie, Fluffy….

Wait, no. Ellie’s (RIP) full name was Elmira Sunday Biscotti. Idk if that counts, her full name was only used when we were mad at her. Which was rare, because she was a very good kitty.

I mean, we know cats named Oreo, Biscuit, and Butter.

My Kimchi, her whole name is Kim Chiara Oscura because her coat is light in darkness.

I’ve known many a cat named after “western” (or whatever) food. Friend of mine has one named Burger right now. There’s one on c/cats named Broccoli Cheddar.

    Personally I use human names.

I’ve always thought of a casserole as a one pan dish served from the same dish it was cooked in. Lasagna absolutely fits that in my book especially if it’s one of the quick lasagnas using a jar of sauce and oven ready noodles.

Unfortunately cats do not live as long as humans. So if you want to read this correctly, I had a cat named Sugar and do not have them anymore because they are dead.

Just last night we started calling our cats Crabcake and Cheddar Bay Biscuit. It started as simply mishearing what one of our kids said (heard crabby cakes instead of the normal paddycakes [a further nickname from Padfoot]) and ballooned from there. So now our cats are Red Lobster representatives.

This person has never met white people if they don’t think we already name our pets after white food too.

e: Also never met other asians if they’ve never met an asian cat owner who named their cat mochi.

    Diagnosis: Terminally online shut-in.

I think it just means they’re blessed, not terminally online

(I do know a cat named Chicken Nugget but it’s not owned by a kkkrakkker)

I have had a lot of pets, mostly dogs, a few cats after I got married, a couple of horses and sheep, and one fox. What I have learned about naming your pet is if you just watch and listen, your friend will tell you their name. It has never failed me or my pet.

Now sometimes you might get a name you didn’t expect, like Cash out the Window, call name cash. Or Tater, because potato head is too hard to say in the field. Shitty Kitty is obvious, he does NOT travel well to the Vet. Or Fuckin’ Cat, Grandma is still upset over that name. But it’s the only one he ever answered to.

So never be in a hurry to name your companion, they will tell you what it is if you only listen to them.

One of my cats was named Wasabi by the shelter. Her name is Noodles, so I’m not sure if I helped or not.

Eh, maybe, but at least many cultures have their own noodles. Wasabi is pretty specific.
