God I hope we see the end of oil dominance in my lifetime. The US doesn’t have the vigor anymore to pivot to a monopoly on renewables.
I really can’t see how they’d even begin to catch up to China at this point. I expect that the whole piracy on the high seas thing is going to accelerate the transition massively.
I am extremely bloomer about the new Cold War assuming it doesn’t turn nuclear. It took the US half a century to crush the USSR, and the USSR didn’t have 4x the US’ population, not to mention getting crippled by the Nazis and the US being in a much less advanced stage of imperial decline. China is shaping up to be a much tougher opponent than the USSR was.
In fact, I would argue we’re seeing the reverse of the Cold War playing out right now. China is leading the bigger economic bloc, and it controls the vast majority of global manufacturing. Meanwhile, the US led bloc is rapidly descending into chaos and starting to fight itself already.
the US can’t see further than a week into the future
Let’s not be unreasonable, they can look forward 1, maybe 2 quarters at most.

Thanks!
Edit: Forgot to add “😄”
Bit idea: turtle neck and khakis + bead necklace and colored glasses. You’re a wise business guru who talks very slowly and profoundly, suggesting things might be good for 1 quarter in the future, but is enlightened enough to realize the quarter after that might have avoidle consequences
I mean, worked for Steve Jobs 😂
