I choose to read the Book of Job as a Comedy, and the genre is indeed old.
Got a lot of mileage out of the book of job as an edgy atheist back in the day. It’s really fucking funny. At the end when job is like “hey uh why did you do all this stuff to me?” and God is all “i unno fuck you that’s why anyway here’s a new wife or whatever”
Myself I love the concept of a Creator who attempts a just world but is hindered by their gambling addiction.

Came to Canada and was a line cook for a while and now lives in Belgium. He’s a comrade and a very well read and worldly one at that. And omg, his soups were genuine magic potions. He gave me the recipes but they have to be made by him to get just right. But holy fuck…his soups were sooooooooo good. His paprika potato one instantly fixed hangovers with magic.
