It must be so weird living in the head of a MAGA. They seem to be constantly bewildered by the most obvious of things. But I suppose that’s what happens if you live your entire life within a 80 radius of your house and have never left the state.

The seashell scene in that movie is it what pushes it over to a great movie. They don’t explain it, they don’t know it, it’s just a thing that people have to accept, qnd a lot of people can’t. I kinda never thought too much about it, i just accepted it as this future thing, but i read things like you use it as a bidet, like one is water, maybe one is soap and the last one air to dry. Making them disposable never made sense to me, since they talked about the three seashells, as if you have to use it in combination or something. Anyway, i remember seeing an interview with Silvester Stallone and they asked him about the seashells, and he was like: idk, i assumed you use them like chopsticks and pull the shit out. I was kinda flabbergasted, because he has either never seen chopsticks or seashells

I had no idea of the movie when i first saw the meme.

I took it as a camping/scouting thing, a naturalist trolly problem test.

I figured you took one in one hand to scrape the majority off. Then use a second one (in the same hand, switch) to kinda squeegee up the remmants. Then brush off any further remnants with that same hand.

Then use the third shell in the other hand to clean the first hand as much as possible.

The thing is… RATM was always raging against the machine of trying to help people. Not that Dems are trying to be helpful. They want the status quo. But stupid fucking right-wingers can’t intuit what it means to say that, “Some of that workforces are the same that burn crosses.” They only hear, “Fuck you, I won’t do what you’re telling me.”

It’s like thinking Vader is the hero for throwing the emperor down the shaft. No, the Jedi was the hero. They’re basically illiterate.

Edit: Literacy has more to do with comprehension of a sentence than sounding out words, though we’re pretty terrible at teaching that.

The Short he’s wearing is actually a Pink Floyd quote. Mother from ‘the Wall’. Very nice!

Remember kids, the first time you notice someone mention something is also the first time they’ve ever thought about it.

Note that below, I am saying that Dave is using the informal logical fallacy argument from authority. He thinks that a “succesful” musician isn’t a political expert, and therefore, their opinion may be ignored. Meanwhile Tom Morello is saying the opposite, that it doesn’t matter.

One basic problem with argument from authority, where the person making the argument is not the authority themselves, is that they are saying that they themselves cannot make the argument. So, how can they know whether to trust the authority that they trust?

It’s not a bad default position to defer to an authority on a subject that you know little about, but that is not an argument that you should use to counter other people who have an argument.

aside from his own “authority” though, Tom Morello gives no argument aside from “it’s obvious”. So not a great argument from them either

To be fair, the obviousness of the administration’s actions isn’t really an arguable point. The things they are doing are very public and very clear. So the argument probably moves on to what makes something unethical or inhumane.
