Imagine Mao coming back and seeing what a giant economic, political, and diplomatic force China has become, and thinking a more permissive policy on LGBT folks is what he’d focus on.

Germans made a comedy (I know) about Hitler waking up in the modern day (of course they did).

Er ist wieder da / He Is Back / Look Who's Back has a pretty great ending, though.

Hitler makes a meta-film inside the film about his life in the modern world, and the German public fucking loves him. He makes a political comeback, people his car drives by start Sieg Heil-ing, and a bunch of clips of modern German politicians play. “I can work with this.” Hitler says.

The only “problem” ever with LGBTQ movements is the amount of conflict, being offended, and butting into other peoples’ medical matters that right wing chuds are choosing to do about it. If they just shut the fuck up it would just be normal people living their normal lives and no country would be even slightly threatened.

“The LGBT ideology is a tool of Western imperialists to destroy a country”

Then why does the UK still exist? Has it been hanging on purely because I haven’t been “gay enough”?

Reminds me that there are supposedly chuds out there angry that Elliott Page was cast as Achilles in the upcoming Odyssey adaptation. Like. Fucking… Achilles. Angry that Achilles isn’t het enough for them. Fucking hysterical. Although it was apparently all a rumour and he’s playing a crewman, anyway, after all that.

May every bird shit on the head of the person who tries to use communism as a vehicle for pushing reactionary social conservatism. They are directly assisting the right-wing culture war being waged against minority groups.

Let’s just say I’ve really enjoyed being here compared to other places online.

IRL I run into the opposite problem with my friend groups. Various journeys and learning in a very liberal area in a red state. It gets complicated sometimes. But we are getting there slowly. Even if I do have to clench my jaw so hard to not just plunge people into the deepend who clearly can’t handle it.

This one bi guy in our group would be great with theory and putting it in a practical use with rules and guidelines. But he’s still stuck in electorialism hell. Thankfully we are decently frank about what we want and protecting people so I’m not worried about that. But you can’t exactly walk up to someone and put Marx, Lenin, etc in front of someone with out setting off the minesweeper in the brain. So it’s taking some time and a lot of patience when I’m normally about as subtle as a bull in a china shop.

But I’m off the point and rambling now.

There’s a funny cognitive dissonance for me where every MLish person I know in person basically believes this very specific thing (plus an overt religious element) and then I log on here and get a completely different type of average user. Social progressivism here is almost always among the well to do middle class libby types (who tend to be nicer too and less conspiratorial, just with a problematic belief in the inevitability of capitalism)

That and the easiest people to fire up into working on mutual aid during a crisis are “nice” religious people who have probably never considered once in their lives that important work in emergencies can be done outside of emergencies and wouldn’t that be good for the community? Some of coolest people are the ones you meet out volunteering/helping in an emergency, but the bulk of lefty people have a lot of doomerism and aren’t out there.

Yay living in a reactionary society
