I didn’t know what comm this belonged in so I put it in askchapo because I guess a quiz is asking you something?

You better do the extreme version you lazy fucks. 240 questions. I bet you won’t last 10 before you want to murder the quiz writer.

I’m so bad at answering these because some of the questions are “Guuuh do you kill all da trees or starve? These are the only options for some reason.”

I blame Jung for false dichotomies in personality quizzes

Also this: Ummm, that’s. Concerning libbing-out

I did the 240 question quiz, found out I’m a communist oooaaaaaaauhhh

SMH slandering me by comparing me to Trotsky is uncalled for…

    pika-pickaxe

In all seriousness, I’m an ML, with respect for MZT and XJT. I think the quiz completely fucked the national question, making it hard to pick essentially the right of nations to self-determination while retaining a mostly unitary system of governance. Also no sense of context for what stage in development we are at, of course I support full collectivization but the path to that requires assessing the real status of the productive forces, etc.

Also, if I was, say, a juche socialist, it would require me to answer as though I live in the DPRK today. They remove the specific context that leads to different decision-making in different countries at different times and pretend these are eternal. It’s metaphysics.

Edit: looks like I got the high score on progressivism, considering it said I am more progressive than 100% of ideological profiles they have set up

Political quizzes are idealist because they assume a political question can have one specific answer in every situation.

        read-theory oooaaaaaaauhhh

Looking forward to it as well! Do you want me to run it, or do you want to? I was thinking of writing a few thoughts on what I picked and why in the comments of each week, really I hope it can be used to expose weaknesses in the list I made (bloat, missing core areas, creating misconceptions, half-baked teaching, etc).

I knew you planned on doing it, I just forgot if we ever discussed how you wanted to handle it. I’m okay with being hands-off if that was something you wanted, or I can play a more active role, etc, but in any case my primary interest is in gauging the effectiveness of each work. Trimming it is always good if it makes sense, and if something is essential to add then it helps to identify gaps.

If you’re okay with it, I think you should run it in the sense of making the posts, and I can participate and give my thoughts on each work and why I picked it in the comments, particularly how I expect people new to theory, liberals, etc. to encounter it, and how I expect those already familiar with theory and sympathetic to Marxism to gain from them. The primary target is the theoryless, but I think there’s enough depth in the guide to be useful even to those that consider themselves dedicated commies already.

Let me know your thoughts! I don’t “own” the guide, I just maintain it, it isn’t for me to decide who wants to use it or how.

I blame Jung for false dichotomies in personality quizzes

“Do you think your country should have a centralized leadership? Do you think local regions should have no influence in their government? OK, you’re 50/50 federal/unitary.”

“Do you think it’s cool when leadership of the country switches every four years between two bourgeois parties that hate each other? Do you want a Monarch that rules until he dies of old age? OK, you’re 50/50 democracy/authority.”

“Do you think your country should defend itself? Do you think it should pre-emptively nuke the enemy? OK, you’re 50/50 militarist/pacifist.”

“Do you think multinational companies should own the natural resources? Do you think we should outlaw BYD to protect some domestic car brand?* OK, you’re 50/50 protectionist/globalist.” *These were literally the questions

Uh well the resczultscz are in

My problem with these is that my answers differ radically depending on if we’re talking about the US or a swag socialist state. I mostly answered supposing the former

I lasted all 240 questions, but now the entire room drips with concentrated liberalism pouring off the questions. I have enough liberalism for today, i gonna go touch grass and read some Stalin.

Lmfao the test classifies Lenin and Stalin both as strongly unitary in government and against federalism. As a reminder, the first thing the Bolsheviks did after the October revolution was to grant the unilateral right of self-secession to all peoples of the former Russian empire, being the first leader in history to approve such a policy as far as I know. Stalin got to fame among the Bolsheviks with his writings on the national question where he defended the right to self determinations, and was the first Comissar of Nationalities in the RSFSR (the state before the USSR). During Stalin, the main form of access to arts, culture and entertainment was through cooperative houses of culture (of which there were already 100k towards his death), in which people enjoyed those aspects of life in the local language.

I think the results are skewed because they’re so often phrased as “your country.” My answers would be very different if I lived in a nation that was actually benevolent instead of amerikkka

I got anarcho-syndicalist though so not too far off I guess.
