I’m so glad he’s alive. But he’s probably back in that concentration camp by now.

I guess I gotta give van Hollen some credit for actually going there and demanding to see him. We might have no idea if he was dead if it weren’t for that.

(Could have tried to smuggle him out though.)

I’m disappointed that the senator wasn’t willing to cause an international incident over this. Like handcuffing himself to Kilmar and leading him back to his plane, daring the el salvador cops to do something about it.

  • Honestly gotta give Van Hollen props here, at most I expected an AOC style photoshoot outside of the prison camp. Van Hollen actually getting to see and meet Garcia is good and he deserves credit for it. Maybe I’ve been underestimating the “resistance” here.

Unfortunately he’s probably too independently wealthy for that to happen. The best we can hope for is that he actually pisses off MS-13 and gets car bombed or something.

I don’t think it’s photoshopped. Probably more of a photo op. Bukele controls the prison. It’s much easier to put down some props and take a photo than it would be to doctor the photo. The margarita glasses in the photo are separate from the water glasses. The Van Hollen photo has 3 glasses. The Bukele photo has 5 glasses. You can see that they have a different color liquid inside. A simple margarita is tequila, triple sec, and lime juice; it doesn’t have to be blended with ice. Or it could just be water with food coloring added to a prop glass.

I also viewed the image with an error analyzing software. Adding a new object in photoshop would create new jpeg artifacts around the object. Also the lightning of the the glasses would be very different than the lightning of the photo. If it was a photoshop. then it would be a very, very advanced photoshop. It’s 1000x easier for Bukele to order his stooges “Put some margaritas on the table so that dumb Americans think the prison is like a vacation.”

Well there it is. I can’t understand why people thought this man was dead. Zero evidence, pure speculation. Liberal wish casting. Liberals are the ones who started this idea that he was dead. They wanted him dead in the same way they want Palestinians dead. So they can hold it over you.

The reality is this guy is being used to “show” that this place “isn’t” torturous and murderous. That this place is “fine” if someone ends up there. As a means to counteract the news about the Republican torture tours.

He’s a political asset and pawn. A “mascot” of the “fine service” El Salvador is providing.

How is it “liberal wish casting” to be surprised that someone sent to a concentration camp is alive? Of course there was no evidence, they haven’t released a single person from the place.

A place where you’re sent to for life without any opportunity for due process or leaving is literally a death camp. You stay there until you die. Death camp…

But its ok though they get to stay alive doing slave labour and live in torturous conditions until they die so its a fun camp actually… What the FUCK do you think concentration camps were before they became literally death camps? They were slave labour prisons you couldn’t leave…

What the fuck is wrong with you freaks

I can’t understand why people thought this man was dead.

You can’t understand why people thought the guy the government disappeared into a foreign concentration camp then repeatedly and callously refused to demonstrate proof of life for might no longer be alive? How is that some huge leap in logic? And you’re framing this as if demanding proof of life was some con naive libs fell for. They should have, what, not looked into and just rolled over on the issue even more than they already have?

I guess? Politically speaking they would have wanted him kept well considering the people asking after him, but it’s still politically a bad look on both governments if this guy is still not freed.

I think they’re making some attempts at damage control, I dont think it’s surprising that people didn’t expect a politician to bother trying to find him, and when one did they scrambled to spin a story.

It’ll work for some, but the crux is that both states claimed his freedom wasn’t possible to facilitate because he couldn’t be found, and now they’ll have to keep justifying ways to keep him there, which in itself is just eyes on a story the governments of both countries would rather just go away.
